Burien Community Church's Welcoming Statement

Burien Community Church believes that people are created in the image of God, who makes us in amazing diversity of ethnicity, gender identity and sexual orientation. As followers of Jesus Christ, whose ministry is radically inclusive, we seek to welcome and affirm all people to any position in the church, from membership to leadership, to those called to be clergy, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or nationality. We will continue to baptize, have communion with, ordain, marry, bury, and do ministry alongside our LGBTQ+ siblings and straight allies. The Good News of Jesus Christ which teaches us to love God, and love our neighbor, and to seek justice, calls us to stand with the disenfranchised and oppressed, and work for a diverse community and world where no one is excluded.
