An inclusive Christian Community of faith

Welcome to you who are looking for a church.
Welcome to you who are seeking on your journey of faith.
Welcome to you who have doubts.
Welcome to you who desire friendships.
Welcome to you who want to find a community of faith.
Welcome home.

The Vision of Burien Community Church is
to be a welcoming community on a faith journey, reaching out
in fellowship,
in caring,
and in service to others,
with the acceptance and love of Jesus Christ.

Christ Is Risen!

On this journey of faith, we all come from different backgrounds. We are made up of different ages, cultures, and denominations.

Some of us have recently found the church while others of us have spent our whole lives in the congregation. Still others have journeyed away and have come back.

We are connected on this journey of faith, seeking a deeper commitment to Jesus the Christ, our Savior, Redeemer and Friend, and to each other as the body of Christ on earth.

Our roots are American Baptist, but we are a community church.  Our history contains the stories of Gregory Heights Baptist Church, which existed at our current location, and Columbia Baptist Church in Seattle.

The two congregations came together in the 1990's, and Burien Community Church emerged in 1996.
We are affiliated with the Evergreen Association of the American Baptist Churches, USA. We are also a member of The Baptist Peace Fellowship of North America.
No matter where you have come from or where you have been,
you are welcome here.

On Sunday mornings, we have two Sunday School classes
that begin at 9:30 a.m.:
Adult Bible Study with Pastor Inge meets in Fellowship Hall
and focuses on the passages of the Revised Common Lectionary.
Family Bible Study with Pastor Mindi that meets in the Dimmit Building
and is welcoming of children and adults of all ages.
Currently we are studying the book of Genesis.

We begin our worship time with an informal Praise and Singing at 10:45 a.m. and Worship at 11:00 a.m.
Children are warmly welcome in our worship service and following the Children's Message they are invited to Children's Church downstairs.

We conclude our time on Sunday mornings with coffee and refreshments in Fellowship Hall.  Our building is accessible for persons with disabilities.
All are welcome to join us.
